Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that is now known by the name of Maureen O'Hara, would certainly have qualified her to be in being in the "child prodigy" category. This was a very natural trait for a girl from Irish origin, and that was surrounded during her early days by talented relatives and parents. Maureen entered the sanctity of family on the 17th of August 1920 in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin firm, as well as had shares in the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen was the second of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sports as a kid and excelled in sports. Her ability to perform was the perfect match for her love of athletics. The fact that she was awarded nearly all the Feis prizes for her own country's theater and drama proved the fact that she was a natural performer. When she was in her 14th year she joined at the Abbey Theater to follow her aspirations and pursue studies in classical theatre and operatic vocals.
